Determination of soil condition is the most significant task in every engineering activity. In order to predict its behavior under different conditions for the safe design of structures, properties of soil such as bearing capacity, cohesion etc can be determined by both field & laboratory methods.
Equipment: Tri-axial Testing Machine , Direct shear test, Unconfined Compression test
Surveying deals with measurement of distances and angles between different points and lines that help civil engineers determine how to draw up plans for public buildings, roads, bridges and a variety of other construction and infrastructure projects. This can be done by using very conventional instruments like chain/tape, compass to High-precision electromechanical and optical equipment ,GPS.
